Fernández Criticizes La Bombonera Pitch After Mauritania Win

Argentina national team midfielder Enzo Fernández didn't miss the opportunity to take a jab at La Bombonera stadium after the 2-1 victory over Mauritania: "I wasn't in good shape".

Fernández, who scored the opener in the 17th minute following a great pass from Nahuel Molina, criticized the state of the pitch and lamented that "we couldn't demonstrate much of our game, but it serves what's coming and to refresh the coach's idea".

On the other hand, he expressed his happiness "to be playing with the national team again, with my teammates, and with the people here always supporting and showing their love for us".

Another topic Fernández touched upon was the injury to Joaquín Panichelli, who suffered a serious injury and will miss the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico: "We dedicate this victory to him".
